Connect to IKEA Home smart

First pair the Wall Controller with the IKEA Home smart Gateway as described in step 1. Then, one by one, pair the lights that you want to operate with the Wall Controller.

1) Pair with the IKEA Home smart Gateway


  • Press and hold the pairing button on the bottom of the IKEA Home smart Gateway for 5 seconds.
  • Keep the Wall Controller within 10 cm of the IKEA Home smart Gateway.
  • Press and hold the Off and On button on the Wall Controller until the Status LED turns on.
  • Then immediately press the On button.
  • The Status LED will blink 5 times quickly to indicate a successful pairing.
The Wall Controller will not appear in the IKEA Homesmart App

2) Pair with an IKEA Home smart bulb

  • Turn off the power to the bulb.
  • Keep the Wall Controller within 10 cm of the lamp.
  • Turn the lamp power back on.
  • Press and hold the Off and On button until the Status LED turns on, then immediately press the S1 button.
  • The Status LED will flash quickly during the pairing process.
  • The Lamp will flash briefly to indicate successful pairing.
Repeat these steps for all bulbs in the group
